Do you all have a drive recorder? I had been thinking about putting it on for a long time, but I couldn’t finish purchasing it. However, the incident that drove the world the other day by pushing the car pushed me and finally installed it. I checked the installation variously and installed it myself. It’s easier to install than I expected, so why not try it yourself?
The selected drive recorder is PIXIDA PDR750SV
The drive recorder I purchased is PIXIDA PDR750SV. As a result of various troubles, it is difficult to install the rear camera because wiring is difficult, so it is better to be able to shoot 360 degrees, but I chose it because it is not so expensive and you can try it for the time being and play it on the spot only with the main body. I also purchased the PDR002 permanent connection cable for parking surveillance options. So the power is taken from the fuse box in the driver’s seat area. The PDR002 also comes with fuse wiring, so you don’t have to buy anything extra. By the way, the view of the fuse box under the driver’s seat of the FJ Cruiser is a mini flat type.
Remove the A-pillar cover to hide the wiring.
It is cool to hide the wiring, so remove the A pillar cover that serves as the wiring route. You can see the screws by removing the decorative plate of the A-pillar grip. Loosen this screw and remove the grip to remove the cover inside the pillar.
Power line connection to the fuse box near the driver’s seat
Connect the parking monitoring option PDR002 to the foot of the driver’s seat. PDR002 is a set of wiring and fuse, so you don’t have to buy extra. However, the resin part covering the fuse part of PDR002 did not get into the fuse box of the FJ Cruiser because it got in the way. I cut the resin part a little so that the fuse insertion part could fit in, but if you do the same thing, please do at your own risk.According to the manual, the fuse box at the driver’s foot of the FJ Cruiser is as shown below. No. 5 is an accessory socket, which is a constant power supply that flows even when the vehicle power is turned off.
The number 13 is the accessory, and the power supply that flows when the ACC is turned on.
I wired it like this: The cord was a support to come to the negative side, so I confirmed the negative side with a tester. Please check the positive and negative of the power supply with a tester or checker just in case. The gland was fastened together with the bolt seen in the left center of the photo.
After that, just connect the wiring to the main body.
All you have to do now is fix the cable in the A-pillar and connect it to the body, which is placed in the right place on the windshield.
Working time is about 2 hours.
It took about 2 hours from the start to the end of work. If you are considering a drive recorder and think that the labor cost is unexpectedly high, I think that it is good to try installing yourself and save money.
