Changed the direction of the child seat, Joie Tilt, attached to the FJ Cruiser to forward.
The direction of the child seat, Joie Tilt, attached to the FJ Cruiser has been changed to forward. I hope this will be useful for those who are considering installing a child seat on the FJ Cruiser.
Change the orientation of Joie Tilt.
First, turn the reclining position to forward.
I installed a Joie Tilt on my FJ Cruiser. When the child was small it was mounted backwards. This time, the child’s feet came to hit the seat when facing backward, so I changed it to forward.
When facing backwards. I installed a child seat behind the passenger seat. This is because I only need to open the driver’s side door when carrying a child. Even if facing forward, it will be installed behind the passenger seat as well.
Remove the child seat and change to a forward reclining angle
First, remove the seat and change to the forward reclining position. When facing backwards, the reclining is aligned with the blue mark.
Align this with the forward red mark. According to the instruction manual, first of all, it is set to the most standing angle, so I will match it. The reclining adjustment can be adjusted by pushing the red lever at the bottom center of the seat to unlock the lock.
Pass the seat belt through the loop for fixing forward
In the photo above, the red seat belt sign on the right is the part where the seat belt passes when facing backward. Pass the waist belt of the seat belt here.
Put the seat belt part in the seat belt lock and lock it.
Pass the part that corresponds to the seat belt through the red part of the seat belt lock on the upper back of the child seat, lock it and move it forward.
Summary
I briefly wrote about how to secure the child seat and Joie Tilt to the F J Cruiser in a forward direction. We hope you find it helpful to those who are interested.
