DELL XPS15 2-in-1 review. I was able to monitor with the Dell Ambassador.
What do you use for your laptop? I usually use Macbook pro 13inch 2016. Since it’s been 3 years since I started using it, I searched variously for the next laptop candidate and started to worry about DELL XPS15 2-in-1. Fortunately, this time I had the opportunity to monitor at the Dell Ambassador Program. I will write about the impression I touched for a moment. I would appreciate it if you could refer to those who are interested in XPS15 2-in-1.
Luckily I got the opportunity to monitor the XPS 13 2-in-1 as well. XPS13 2-in-1 review here.
What is the Dell Ambassador Program?
What is the Dell Ambassador Program? It is a program that allows you to experience DELL XPS series or Alienware series, be invited to DELL events, and receive special purchase plans. Monitors are screened, and once you apply, you can’t reliably monitor them. Also, those who monitor it are obliged to post their feelings of use on their personal blogs or SNS. However, fortunately like me this time, I have the opportunity to try out the top model before purchasing it, so if you are interested in DELL or if you like PC, why not register it?
Why did I want to use the XPS15 2-in-1?
The main reason is the keyboard used in the XPS 15 2-in-1. The keys are magnetically levitated with the Maglev keyboard. I wanted to give it a try. This is because the Macbook pro uses a pantograph keyboard, and I’m having trouble with it. Apple even offers a free repair program. I have already replaced the top case with my keyboard twice because my Macbook pro also has unresponsive keys and chattering. Trouble If the XPS15 2-in-1 keyboard is more comfortable to use than the keyboard that continues, I think that it may be possible to switch to it.
Monitored XPS15 2-in-1 specifications
The main specifications of the monitored XPS15 2-in-1 are as follows. It can be seen from the numbers that the CPU, memory, and storage have quite high specifications. It also has a graphic board, so you will not have any problems when editing images and videos or playing games.

Body size
I compared the XPS15 2-in-1 with a Macbook pro 13 inch. Surprisingly, the depth is almost the same. The width is a little wider. Even if you change trains, it doesn’t seem strange.
15 inch display. I am concerned about the width of the bottom of the display.
I am worried about the display. . . This is because the width of the part with the DELL mark on the bottom of the monitor and the camera is wider than that of a normal laptop. Is it because of the hinge to get into tablet mode? It would be cooler if it was narrower here. . . It’s a little unfortunate and it’s already here.
Impressions of the Maglev keyboard
Now let’s touch the Maglev keyboard that I’m interested in. The size of the key and the key pitch are actually the same as the Macbook pro 13 inch. The area around the key is a carbon fiber composite material with a carbon pattern. The surface seems to have a non-slip finish and is not slippery.
The touch of the key is quite solid. The Macbook pro 13inch feels sticky, but this Maglev keyboard is ticking. The keystrokes are almost the same. I feel that the Maglev keyboard has hardness or firmness when pressed. This article is actually written using XPS 15 2-in-1. Although I was not used to it at the beginning, I had a typo, but at this moment, my typos are reduced and I am able to use it without any problems. I’m worried about which keyboard I like, but if there is no trouble, I think the XPS15 2-in-1 keyboard is better at this stage.
The USB type-C adapter used was Apple’s one.
The USB interface of XPS15 2-in-1 is type-C. I needed a conversion adapter from type-A to type-C to move data such as photos. When I used Apple’s one for trial, it worked. It was harvesting that I later learned that I didn’t have to buy more for DELL.
Summary
I had the opportunity to monitor my XPS 15 2-in-1 at the Dell Ambassador Program. The comfort of the Maglev keyboard I’ve been curious about is still fine. I’ll use it for a while from now on. I hope it will be helpful for those who are considering XPS15 2-in-1.
